The newest addition to the Focal – JM Lab Utopia III series, the Scala Utopia Loudspeaker makes its debut at Southern California’s Digital Ear and brings unmatched performance in a modest size.
May 25, West Coast, US; The company that has prided themselves on creating the pleasure of sound, Focal-JM Lab has supplemented the Utopia series with the Scala Utopia Loudspeaker, a 3-way floor standing loudspeaker that boasts a moderate size. Scala Utopia meets in the middle when it comes to the collection’s size, however still manages to bring superlative performance and delivers incredible sound. Southern California’s largest showroom of home audio systems, Digital Ear will be one of only a handful of authorized dealers to offer the system.
Focal – JM Lab systems have been known around the world to blend design in art and link it with technology and innovation. The Scala Utopia bares no difference. The easy-to-install loudspeaker marries Utopia technologies, which include an iAL2 pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeter, a 6 1/2″ “Power Flower” midrange “W” driver and an 11” woofer of the same composite sandwich technology. The system also features sound personalization with adjustable bass and treble levels, removable tweeter with low, normal and high adjustments, and removable woofer grilles—all which are manufactured under the Focal brand. The audio can also be adjusted by Focal – JM Lab’s “Focus Time,” which is a mechanical phase optimization of the drivers that allows for the orientation to be angled toward the listener.
The Scala Utopia illustrates a more modern sleek appeal than the shiny exotic wood cabinets of the previous era’s speakers. The complexity of the speaker contradicts the effortlessness of the installation and tuning. Music enthusiasts and home audio system aficionados particularly enjoy the systems because they are able to hear the inner lines of music better than they had previously with ordinary music listening systems. Because of the high section laminar port, there are no air flow or distortion noises, nor dynamic compression of the bass equaling in authentic sounds with no disruption.
