July 29 2009, Orange County, CA; For those who are avid Meridian users in the home audio system arena, the company has recently introduced the Meridian HD621 HDMI Audio Processor as the fundamental link between a Meridian audio and visual technologies and the latest sources, such as Blu-ray Discs®, satellite/TV receivers and gaming consoles with HDMI outputs. The Meridian HD621 is an important addition to the home audio system because several components in the current market supply both audio and video via the same HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) cable, which negates the quality of sound and image. The HD621 disconnects the HDMI signal from up to six sources into its audio and video elements, increasing the audio quality and delivering it to the Meridian system free of video static and disruption, while the video imagery is fed directly to the screen through a single cable, which also eliminates additional switching. The processor also divides up to eight channels of audio signal from the data stream at the HDMI source and gives audio-only outputs for connection to any existing Meridian surround controller.
Supporters of the Meridian brand also applaud the high performance FIFO buffering technology because it removes HDMI jitter and delivers a considerable upgrade in audio quality from all HDMI sources. This allows for the quality of incoming digital audio signals to be cleaner and smoother, resulting in a purer sound. There’s also a programmable lip-sync delay to make sure sound and picture remain in perfect harmony without disruption. The HD261 also features a RS-232 serial port which allows for the device to be fully configured and incorporated into a media system or touch screen-controlled home theater.
